Suggest Treatment For Small Pink Spots On The Lips Of An Infant
My grandson in 14 months old. He has had a pin prick rash for several weeks. It spread from two little spots on his lip to all over his face then to his body. He had had swollen glands a week before the rash broke out. He was tested for Leukemia but the dr. said the blood test wasn t bad enough to make them think it was leukemia. Any ideas on what this could be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have small pink spots on the lips of an infant which could be due to many reasons like allergic reaction , canker sore , bacterial infection , fordyce granule and herpes . But in your case it seems to me as Herpes or cold sores which occurs because of lowered immunity of body due to excessive cigarette smoking and autoimmune causes. Need no to worry about it. Visit general practitioner once and get oral examination and visual examination done. If its not identifiable then go for culture by taking sample with the help of swab to determine if bacteria, viruses, or fungi may be causing the bumps. If doctor doubts you may have oral cancer, a tissue sample can be collected to test for malignant cells. Use antiviral ointments such as rich in acyclovir. Wash face frequently, only with water without use of any chemical agent. Your symptoms will resolve soon. Avoid smoking as it will exaggerate your symptoms.
Cover skin while exposure to sunlight. Drink lots of water and fluids to re hydrate body.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Mahehshwari
