I have had a very sore throat for about 4 days, and a fever that lasted under 24 hours and broke quickly on the first night of my sore throat. I have no coughing, but it is very painful to swallow and speak. I looked in the back of my throat and did not see any white pigment as I have learned is associated with strep, just a swollen and irritated throat (although I don t have a throat suppressor or anything so it may not have been fully visible). Is it possible that I have the beginnings of strep, and at what point should I seek medical attention?
