Suggest Treatment For Sore On Chin, Night Sweats, Fever And Sore Throat

I had a sore on my chin that been there for two weeks and its getting bigger, I have night sweats, fever, sore throat and sores on the left side of my face and 7 sore on my chest that oozes puss. I went to er and the perscribed antibolitic, and a steriode which help some but the not much. what could it be?

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, multiple sore with fever and night sweats indicate severe bacterial infection not controlling by conventional antibiotics. There can be various issues as antibiotic resistance through beta lactamase producing organisms or else. It is best recommended to discuss the need of culture and sensitivity report of the one of the pus discharging lesion and figure out the line of therapy accordingly for best results.

Till that time, follow basic guidelines:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Plenty of liquids to maintain hydration
- Avoid smoking or alcohol if consuming
- Control of blood sugar
- Acetaminophen 6 hourly for fever control
