Problem: Pain on outer throat area. Mostly appears to be tightened nerves on the neck area. but one area in particular is painful when pressed. Background Info: I am an avid cyclist and the day this pain started was as follows: 1. I was going to a friend s house 2. The area was crowded with cars & people , I was almost knocked off and had slightly injured my leg 3. I was wearing earphones, and coincidentally, the point where pain lies is where my earphone button lies which I basically use to answer phone calls 4. So after nearly being knocked off, I got a call at the same time (guess being the reason to lose focus at that moment) so having 1 free hand (as other on the bike handle) I receive the call by pressing the button and somehow may have pressed the button against my neck (happens sometimes) but I am not sure if this appended or its a figment of my imagination. Some More Info: No previous history of any medical problems nor having a family history of medical problems (like diabetic, high/low pressure, etc) Also Note: It seems pain has subsided a bit over past 3 days but any sudden exertions like turning head sideways with force brings back the pain. When pain occurs, I can reduce it by massaging gently around the pain area. I tried using Fastum gel with no result till date. Also Internally, (in my throat) there is no pain at all. Even while eating/talking/drinking/yawning. Pain occurs when the nerves on my neck are used (like while turning head strongly, sneezing with force)
