Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat Along With Body Aches While Breastfeeding

Hello, I am breastfeeding and have developed a wicked sore throat, body aches, and now complete loss of my voice. I have a sharp cough and nasal congestion. I ve been drinking lots of warm fluids, and taking Tylenol to reduce fever and aches. I have amoxicillin, but am afraid to take it. What, if anything can I take to kick this while breastfeeding? I share your concerns about breastfeeding and medicines. Its good to be over cautious during breastfeeding as your medicine intake affects baby too. But let me assure you that amoxacillin is a very safe antibiotic for baby and you can take it during breastfeeding. Penicillin group (amoxacillin) and cephalosporin group (cefixime) are safe medicines during breastfeeding.

So you can continue with the treatment you are taking as it is safe medicine. However if you are not comfortable with amoxacillin, get any antibiotic from cephalosporin group (cefixime, cefodeoxol, cefipime).
