Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Ear Pain

i have had a sore throat right side and sometimes a bit of an ear ache for 9 months, now my tongue is also feeling sore, ent visits and cat scan say everything seems ok, The ent says he can remove the tonsils and it may cure discomfort, at 61 years old not excited about the maybe part of it, alsoo tried a 3 week course of antibiotics, thinking about a second opinion, do these symptoms sound like tonsils or is there another course of action beyond surgery that might help?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in ear and sore throat on right side can be due to chronic ear infection and as the ear and throat are connected via Eustachian tube therefore there is soreness in right side of throat..
Soreness on tongue also known as Glossitis seems to be due to infection only or can also be side effects of medication..
The symptoms sounds more like ear infection and not tonsillitis..
Consult an ENT surgeon and get evaluated and a course of antibiotics and painkillers along with antibiotic and analgesic ear drops can help..
or tongue soreness gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
