Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Low Grade Fever

My daughter (7yrs old, 4ft tall, 64lbs) has had a low grade fever of between 99 and and 99.8 for two days. She was sent home from school yesterday because of it and she s been at a steady elevated body temp all day today. Her only symptoms are headache and nausia (probably due to fever?). No other symptoms. No diarrhea, no sore throat, no cough, no sniffles.... What do you think? If I take her temp tomorrow morning and it is normal, I ll just send her to school. What if it is between 99 and 100 though?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your daughter symptoms seem to be related to a cold or flu.
I suggest giving her anti inflammatory medications such as Tylenol to relieve the inflammation.
I also suggest to give her liquids and rest.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
