Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Nausea After Wisdom Tooth Extraction
I just had two wisdom teeth removed on last Tuesday and I have been experience being nausea even with medication to help with it and very sore throat has been going on since Friday. I have been using the warm salt water and trying to keep my mouth clean. I am still taking antibiotics like I should and everything else, but the soar throat is painful. jaw and gums still feel alittle stiff and numb.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain sore throat after wisdom tooth extraction is not an abnormal finding and it is seen due to inflammation in throat along with the area of extraction as the throat and wisdom tooth site are close to each other.. You should not worry as gradually when the inflammation will subside sore throat will definitely get better.. You can continue taking antibiotics for the duration for which it is advised to you but more than ten days it is not needed.. You can continue doing warm saline gargles 3 to 4 times a day.. Suck throat lozenges.. You can also take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for relief from pain and soreness..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
