Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Neck Stiffness

Last Wednesday I started getting a sore throat, then Thursday through today I feel generally crummy and exhausted. Saturday, Sunday and Monday I had no voice. Tuesday I started getting stiffness in the right side of my neck. I was bitten by a tick Memorial day weekend, but I am sure any type of symptoms could not have come on this quickly. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As there is history of tick bite with severe respiratory tract infection and neck stiffness, immediate medical attention is warranted to examine the general systems. Till you reach the medical facility:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times a day
- More amount of liquids intake in sessions
- Avoid spices, cold drinks, dairy fat
- Analgesic tablet as ibuprofen with acetaminophen or paracetamol after meals if no history of drug sensitivity

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
