Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Glands
Hi, My daughter who is 27 lives in AZ..Has been sick for about 2 weeks. She has a sore throats, swollen lymp glands, white spots on her throat and had a 99 fever a few days ago. She has been to the doctor twice. The first time they gave her a strep test that said negative but went ahead and treated her with augmentin 500 mg She went back when that was finished because it did nothing so they upped the dose and gave her a steroid. She has one more day of steroid and the white spots are still there and she was crying because she still feels horrible. Is there a stronger or better medicine that could help her? She has also been drinking lots of water and gargling with salt water. What else can we do?
Dear white spots means where us it in post pharygeal wall or on the tonsils. If it not responding to antibiotic it may be drug resistant or maybe a fungal infection called oral thrush. So very difficult to tell what is the cause for pharyngitis until examined and investigated properly.
Use tab. Azithromycin 500mg for five days, and tab. Fluconozole 150 mg once a week, if it is fungal infection you use Candid b mucosal paint for oral application. Still symptoms persisten you need to consult your doctor immediately.
