Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And White Bump Behind Molar
Hi, I was curious. I had a sore throat, my tonsils were inflamed and they have tonsil stones and stuff, but everything isn t inflamed anymore and my tonsil stones are still there, but I noticed a thick white skin bump behind my last tooth (molar) I gargled salt water but it would not go away. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a white bump behind the last molar can be either inflamed pericoronal flap [gum flap] that covers or surrounds the molar..
In case if you do not have wisdom tooth erupted it can be due to protrusion of the erupting wisdom tooth that might be lying under the gums and have not broken through the gums..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case if it is due to infection antibiotics and painkillers can be advised, along with warm saline gargles.. In case if it is due to erupting wisdom tooth it will get erupted gradually by tearing through the gums and do not need treatment..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
