Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Heavy And Persistent Cough

Hi, I m having persistent coughs that are at times very deep coughs. Mucus is present at times and it all started when I was knocked below my Adam s apple during a football game which led to a sorethroat and to now heavy and persistent coughing. I don t think it s bronchitis but am not sure what it is. I ve been taking expectorant which hasn t been much of a help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood the history.
History of trauma below the Adam's Apple is a serious case with the symptoms of deep coughs, mucus production and now heavy and persistent cough.

I would advise you the following:
- Get a consultation of an ENT Surgeon and Endoscopy of the area.
- MRI to see the extent of trauma and its effects.
- Strict rest to voice.
- Plenty f warm liquids.
- A course of an anti-inflammatory and antibiotics.

This should help you to recover.
Please do not try something at home.
