Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Swollen Tonsils, Constant Headaches, And Facial Pain

Hi, I ve just recently been to my local Gp on froday due to sore throat swollen tonsils and constant headaches and facial pain/teeth/jaw etc. I m on penicillin which I started Friday. The symptoms ain t seem to be getting any better. The roof of my mouth feels really slimy and just different.. Can anyone give me any advice and will the penicillin work eventually?
