Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With Discharge From Eyes

Hi Doctor, Today is Sunday and in the middle of the night Wednesday I woke up with a fever and sore throat/lymph glands. My fever stayed for a couple days, never going above 100.5F. Then i developed cold symptoms: runny and stuffy nose, sore throat/glands still there, fatigue and loss of voice. Then yesterday afternoon I started getting a yellowish mucus discharge out of both my eyes, causing them to redden. Other then the discharge my eyes feel normal; no itchiness, swelling, or scratchiness. What is wrong with me???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms of fever, sore throat, lymph nodes indicate that you started with viral fever. Got secondary infection in the nose and/or sinuses thus causing yellow nasal discharge.
Since the nasolacrimal duct that connects the eyes to the nose also get infected you got the yellowish mucus discharge for eye with redness.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation examination of ENT and eyes, get required investigations and get a proper prescription based treatment with an appropriate antibiotic, decongestant and anti-inflammatory medications.
If required get a second opinion of an ENT and Eye Specialists.

Hope I have answered your query.
