Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With White Patches Inspite Of Taking Antibiotics

ok, antibiotics were prescribed 8 days ago for a sore throat with white patches....first 3 days amoxil 250, didnt seem to work, next 4 days amoxil 500, didnt seem to work, then prescribed biaxin for 2 days..could take the pain, not able to drink fluids and started to have a swollen lip( possibly bitten but i dont remember biting it) went to emerg, they gave me fluids and steroids and sent me home, said to stop taking the antibiotics. Even though it felt like razor blades I began to drink cold water by the gallons. Now there are white spots returning? Do I need a swab for strep, or could this be a fungal or yeast infection. Am i just dehydrated and needing contant fluids? please help. Im also gagling with warm salt water, as much as possible.. thanks
