Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat,malaise And Tinnitus
hi, my 24 year old friend began to feel ill 1 week ago. He complains of a sore throat, malaise, myalgia, tinnitus, and denies cough. Yet he has been spitting excessively spit, sputum, and occasionally blood tinged spit. He has been on Augmentin, Prednisolone, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Mucinex for 3 days. The issue is that there appears to be a cyst in the back of the throat. Recently the fever has remitted but he is still spitting and complains of throat irritation. What is the next appropriate step in regard to treatment? Mainly, is it necessary that we bring him back to the doctor or is he on the verge of healing? Thank you.

Continuation of symptoms in spite of proper treatment means there is a chance of re-infection or need to change antibiotic and add on Povidone Iodine Gargles. It would be better to consult a Doctor again and ask for investigations as follows:
- Tests of blood for CBC, Sugar, Throat swab for gram staining, strep throat, culture and sensitivity.
- Further management as per the findings on clinical evaluation and investigation reports
