Suggest Treatment For Sore Tongue For A 72-year-old
My mother is a 72 year old woman. She has a sore tongue since January, the tip of it can get very red and bumps on it. She also has an upset stomach and will get diarrhea within 10 minutes after eating several times a week. Dr has ruled out infection with blood tests, and thrush for the tongue
As per your complain sore tongue with redness of the tip of tongue is due to inflammation of tongue known as GLOSSITIS and is probably due to thrush that is an yeast infection of the tongue and it is causing inflammation and redness of tongue.. At times thrush can cause dryness of tongue and mouth and it can also add up to inflammation and redness.. For this problem antifungal medications like Nystatin mouthwash, clotrimazole lozenges and oral antifungal medicines like Fluconazole can help.. For sore tongue gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, suck ice and do cool water rinses.. For stomach infection causing diarrhea proper medications like antibiotics along with anti diarrhea medication like Loperamide and also adding more of yoghurt in diet can relieve..
Any further queries are welcome..
Regards..
