Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Lump On The Jaws

2 days ago I woke up and found that the right side of my face was sore. I noticed that there is a lump, about the size of a pea, on my lower jaw bone near where my bottom and top jaw connect. It is hard but slightly moveable and very sore to the touch. It doesn't bother me unless I touch it yet it is sore for a little while after I press on it. Is it something I should be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
It sounds like a small cyst or lymph node. Try some warm compresses on it and hopefully it will go away on its own. Try not to pick at it or press on it a lot as that can cause irritation and more soreness. If it is not going away in a few weeks or if it gets red and inflamed see your doctor for evaluation
Regards
