Suggest Treatment For Soreness In Throat/esophagus

I had food poisoning and vomited at least 5 times last night. The last few times were dry heaves with excessive saliva. Now today my throat and esophagus are sore and it hurts to swallow. I think the stomach acids in the vomit burned my throat. Is there any remedy that will help me feel better?

HI.You are right. The acid which came up caused this acute sort of GERD.
I would suggest:
Go for a proper diet and medicines- you will be fine:::
*Soft bland diet without oil and spices.
*Ranitidine 150 twice daily.
*Domperidone thrice daily.
*Antacid gel 3 tea-spoon-full every 3 hours, the first dose on getting up.
If you do not get relief within 1 week - go for upper GI Endoscopy and a consultation with Gastroenterologist.
I find this answer helpful
