Suggest Treatment For Soreness Of Scalp Of Head

I noticed Friday morning when shampooing my hair that my right side of scalp was extremely sore...bruised feeling...medium size area diagonal from tip of ear. Well last night (Saturday) when lying down for bed I noticed that it was sore to lie on. I felt it and now there is a lump, curvy lump, shape is longish. Approximately 2 inches long, quarter inch wide, and about quarter inch high. Extremely sore tender to touch. Not soft feeling. Definitely under skinny. Sister and daughter have looked....no redness, no bumps, no sores, no discoloration, but can definitely see and feel the shape. When pressing on it besides the extreme pain, it causes my head buzz, eyes twitchy and mouth jawline unbelievable weird feeling. I do have a tinge of headache middle of forehead but nothing unbearable. I had been to the doctor last week due to extreme fatigue for last 3 weeks, but blood tests still out. I just don t know if I should worry and go to an ER or just wait and see if it goes away or gets bigger or try to get into my internal medicine Dr this week.

Hello,

Perhaps it is a prodrome of shingles that you ate experiencing. I suggest you yo watch out for any sores/bumps over the next 2-3 days. You may take an otc painkiller e.g. either ibuprofen or diclofenac for symptomatic relief from pain.
