Suggest Treatment For Sores, Painful Gums, Swollen Cheeks And Severe Headache

OK I went to see a dentist who told me I had an infection of the gum and that my tooth that was hurting me was to bad to save so I needed to get it pulled. They couldn't do it their so I went to another dentist a day later witch was on a Wednesday. I told them everything the other dentist told me and brought over a picture of the ex ray. The dentist I saw Wednesday did no ex ray or prescribe me no antibiotics. They just told me to come back in that Friday to get it pulled. I came in and told them that my mouth was sore and I was in a lot of pain. He said that's fine and continue on. So I left came home and my face had swollen up it was like that for the whole weekend and I was still in pain. They gave antibiotics and ibprofine. It is now Wednesday and I'm still in pain I can not eat on one side and my gums and cheek is still swollen. So I went back now I'm on some other type of medicine for an infection. My head is pounding and I get very dizzy. When I went to bend down my head felt like something was rushing up. I need answers please.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have an infection in the gum and if it is around the wisdom tooth it can be due to inflamed gum flap and the condition is known as Pericoronitis..
If it is any other tooth there can be deep infection in tooth leading to gum inflammation as well as swelling on face due to dental abscess that occurs due to pus formation below root tips of tooth..
Headache seems to be due to radiating pain from the tooth..
As you are already scheduled for extraction, you should proceed with it..
As of now you can take higher painkillers like Tramadol or Ketorolac to relieve pain..
Do cool compresses over the swollen cheek.
Do warm saline gargles..
Take a soft diet and plenty of rest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
