Suggest Treatment For Spider Bite Like Scar
My 11 year old granddaughter was playing with a friend this past weekend in the forest and came home with what appears to be a spider bite or a bite of some kind. The bite itself is slightly smaller than a dime but the surrounding area is red and as large as a half dollar. The bite looks like it has come to a head and some white stuff came out of the center. What should I put on the bite?

Your granddaughter aged 11yrs is suffering from inflamed skin around the area of insect bite(spider bite). You are suggested to clean the area of the bite with running water and soap. Wipe it gently and apply ointment Bacitracin or Neosporin on the wounded area. It will give relieve. Ointment hydrocortisone is equally effective when a thin layer is applied on the inflamed skin.
However, sometimes spider bites cause complications like fever, pain, swelling, inflammation. In such a case, she may need cleansing of the scar and urgent medical aid. In the meantime, you can give syrup acetaminophen for relieve from discomfort. Applying a cool compress with a clean cloth dampened with water or filled with ice will help to reduce pain and swelling.
Help her keep the affected area elevated, it will help to reduce the inflammation and soreness. She should get fine, but if the symptoms worsens, she may need some antibiotics. In such a case you are suggested to visit the ER urgently & help her get treated at the earliest.
