I had burning and vaginal spotting of blood after sex two nights ago. About an hour later I got a burning sensation and uncomfortable pain and I felt like I had to urinate every twenty minutes or so and when I did lots of burning and pressure while and after. The blood spotting stopped yesterday morning and started again this morning but it looked like it was in my urine and it was Orange and yellow color. I got a bad sharp pain during and after for about twenty minutes. I started AZO urinary pain relief last night and took it once again this morning. Spotted very little orange yellow today a few times but barely. I urinated an hour ago and the whole toilet had bright red/orangish and yellowish ( dark unlike urine should be. Is it from AZO? Or could it be something else? I have a history of kidney stones and infections. Very worried because now I have back pain as well. Please let me know what you think soon.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In the current scenario, it appears that you are experiencing urinary tract infection. Please stop self-medication and see a specialist immediately. The cause of the color is unlikely to be the medication. In view of your past history, apt management is necessary. Sexual intercourse can lead to pressure on the urethra thereby resulting in such symptoms. Further evaluation is needed to plan proper management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
