Hi. I have colon cancer that was diagnosed at Stage IIIB. After surgery to remove my tumor, a month later when I was set to begin chemo, CT scan showed multiple small lesions (under 1cm) on my liver, assumed to be metastatic disease. After 1 month of 5FU, Oxaliplatin and Avastin, lesions had all shrunk significantly and after 9 treatments lesions were undetectable. However a new 7mm low density lesion was found on my spleen. My doctor says it is very unlikely that colon cancer would spread to the spleen but the radiologist is almost certain it is metastatic disease. They are doing an MRI to confirm but want to restart a new chemo drug and do radiation on the spleen. Is it possible this splenic lesion could be something else?
Hello .Better to wait for the MRI resaults to be sure for the diagnosis. It is possible that splenic lesion could be something else, but due to your colon cancer is better to wait.Your doctor will give you the right advise for your next step.Good luck
