MY 28 UNMARRIED NIECE IS VERY CRITICAL IN A MANILA HOSPITAL AND ON STAGE 4 OVARIAN CANCER A RARE ONE CALLED YOLK SAC TUMOR. HER CHEMO (PACLITAXEL 300 MG & CARBOPLATIN 500MG) AND OTHER MEDICINES WERE STOPPED AS PER HER DOCTORS ARE USELESS BEING STAGE 4. NOW HER STOMACH IS ALWAYS BLOATED (GETTING BIGGER UP TO 82 CMS), IT WILL BE DRAINED THEN WILL COME BACK AGAIN (MANY TIMES NOW). DOC WHAT CAN YOU SAY, WHAT WOULD YOU ADVICE US TO DO. THANKS SO MUCH
I am extremely sorry to say this but there is not much to do in case of your niece. She has last stage ovarian cancer which has a very poor prognosis even with treatment. Since her disease has not responded to chemotherapy the outcome is even worse and she doesnt have long to live. What we should aim at now is to make her as comfortable as possible. The bloating she feels is probably due to fluid accumulating in her abdomen which is a result of her disease and will continue. You have to get it drained periodically to keep her comfortable. You can give her Tab Lasilactone once daily which might reduce the rate of fluid formation.
