Suggest Treatment For Stage IV Esophageal Cancer

Brother In law Recently diagnosed with Stage 4a Esophageal Cancer , esophageal stent placement 3 wks ago, reflux went from mild pre-stent to very severe post stent. recently admitted to hospital to managed reflux symptoms were unsuccessful. Meds taken are Mylanta, Protonix, Prilosec, Nexium. I was thinking of purchasing Zegrid over the counter, wanted to know has anyone found relief with this drug. Can t sleep, can t eat, can t drink much fluids, lost 70 lbs just over 2 month period. Care is palliative and comfort, receiving Chemotherapy. Have to find some relief of the reflux ! Will not make it much longer! Sorry, didn t realize this required payment options. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

Unfortunately stage 4 is very advanced disease and no curative treatment is possible. Palliation and supportive care can be continued. If reflux is severe, you can consider procedure like feeding jejunsotomy also.
