Suggest Treatment For Staph Infection In Spine And Brain

My grandmother developed a staph infection some yrs ago after a knee surgery. It went undetected and ended up in her spine & brain. She has been on antibiotics daily since that time, but now it is back on her leg and she seems to have some confusion again. She has been taking the best and strongest antibiotics for years now. The drs say there may be nothing more to do. What can I expect to happen from this point on?
