General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A stiff neck is commonly due to damage to the bones, muscles & nerves. You are suggested to visit a GP & get Imaging tests (X-Ray, CT, MRI) done. Your treating doctor may suggest EMG or certain blood tests.

Medical conditions that cause stiff neck are slipped disc, arthritis, meningitis, cervical spondylitis, muscle strain or a pinched nerve.

Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. In the meantime, apply ice, take NSAIDS, stay away from stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
