Suggest Treatment For Stiffness In The Neck And Rashes On The Back

My husband came down with shingles, last thurs the rash started in his back we went to the doctor and got antiviral meds and diclofenac sod for the pain (my husband had an opioid addition) for the pain. After 5 doses of mess he got a stiff neck and terrible headache. We thought this might be s side effect from the diclofenac so stopped taking it. My husband still has the stiff neck and headache. Today we noticed a drooping eyelid, puffiness under the eye and two red bumps near his eyebrow - could the shingles have moved to his face and above the eye?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be shingles and as he is on antiviral therapy, a neurologyst consult is the best choice. Meantime Achetaminophen and Codeine may ease the pain. Take Codeine with doctor prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
