Suggest Treatment For Stiffness, Pain And Swelling In The Feet

I have had swelling in my feet, stiffness, & pain in my knee, & hip joints for 2 months. Went to a doctor a month ago, not getting any better, actually getting worse. The doctor didn t know why my feet were swelling. What could cause such things to happen? I have not been injured or ate anything different, or been bitten by anything.

Hello,

For pain, you can take NSAIDs, Naproxen or Combiflam, when required after food. To reduce swelling limit the intake of salt in your diet & keep your feet elevated on a pillow while on the bed or a stool while seated. Get CBC, Urinalysis & tests for RA/OA done & get physically examined to rule out infections, bites or other pathology. Take iron supplements to get rid of any anemia, take calcium & protein rich diet.

Stiffness can be due to a sedentary lifestyle, being overweight or having a poor diet. Do regular exercises. Stay away from addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
