Suggest Treatment For Stinging In The Middle Finger

My middle finger started to sting, it swelled and turned dark in color. I iced it and that made the pain go away. Now the discoloration is moving toward the palm of my hand. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Sorry, didn t realize this was not a free service. I ll call my doctor tomorrow.

Hello,

Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. A detailed evaluation is required to make a diagnosis. If there is signs of infection, you can apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
