Suggest Treatment For Stomach Bloating, Acidity And Vomiting
i have had vomiting after drinking alcohol. Then bloated stomach with acidic feeling. Vomited that night 5/6 times without fever. Next morning took some peptobismol and zantac. Stomach felt good but still bloated. Ate banana, apple, carrot and rice pudding. Vomited that evening and took 50 mg promethazine theolate before bed. Next morning, drank a cup of water vomited immediately. Took, 25 mg promethazine theolate again. Half an hour later, drank water and ate a banana, half Apple and two boiled potatoes. I got relieving bowel but came in black. Want suggestions.
It is possible that the peptobismol caused the black stool, this is one of the possible side effects of this medications. Black stool can also occur as a result of bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, small intestines).
If there is a long term history of alcohol use or heavy use of alcohol then a bleed is possible and would need to be ruled out by a visit to your doctor.
In terms of the food intake, you should only use fluids till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms- no food till 4 hours have passed with no vomiting. Use fluids to help replace what is being lost but only small amount of fluids should be used at a time eg 1 tsp to 1 tbs every few minutes for the first hour, increasing if tolerated.
I hope this helps
