Suggest Treatment For Stomach Cramps After Taking Azithromycin

I just starting taking azithromycin today for pneumonia. Shortly after I took it I ate my dinner a hamburger patty no cheese. Did I just mess up my first dose of the antibiotic? Also I am very stomach cramped. Can I take something to counteract the cramps?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

Yes, you should take Ranitidine 150mg or Controlc 40mg which are antiacid medicines and may help. Also, you should have easier diet while on azitromicin and take less fats and fried food and more probiotics and boiled food. It should improve soon after these diet changes.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
