Suggest Treatment For Stomach Cramps And Swelling Around Legs And Arms

Whenever I drink an alcohol, I swell around my legs and arms, and particularly my belly and face. It s not excessive drinking, its happened when I ve had just one shot, or one glass of champagne or wine... And it takes at LEAST a week and a half to go down. I also get mild stomach cramps, and a runny nose. What could this be? The only things I can find on water retention and alcohol is excessive drinking- and this is not the case.

Hi,

I want to know further more history like since how many years you are taking alcohol, daily urine output, any other medication like anti-hypertensive, anti-diabetic or any drug allergies. As per your history, it could be 2 possibilities:
1) Alcoholic cirrhosis or fatty liver with acute gastritis
2) Chronic renal failure
3) Allergic to alcohol or any other drugs to are using.

For this, you need consult gastroenterologist for further management. If I am you treating doctor I will start with renal function test, liver function test, complete blood picture, absolute eosinophil count and upper GI endoscopy.

For now:
1) Stop alcohol and smoking
2) For any pain use antispasmodics like tab buscopan
3) Consult Gastroenterology
