Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on low dose aspirin and appear to have developed a stomach ulcer. I have attended a GP twice over 2 months but the pills don t seem to be working. I reduced my aspirin to 1 every two to three days to try and help the healing. Is there anything else I can do and how long should it take for these to heal?
Hi, There might be having gastritis giving this problem. Due to aspirin it precipitated more. As you are on blood thinning medicine for having some cardiac or other problem, you can not stop taking aspirin so if it is a must then take it with Omeprazole or Pentaprozol medicine. Consult your treating doctor and discuss about this. For confirm the condition, weather ulcer or gastritis you might require endoscopy. Go for stool test for occult blood as well. Ok and take care.
