Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat, Shortness Of Breath And Heart Palpitations

I have a loved one who was prescribed 3 different antibiotics for what was believed was Strep throat. In the meantime he began taking Ibuprofen for headaches, Robitussin for cough and eventally Sudafed to get relief. As a result experienced shortness of breath, heart palpitations and high blood pressures with numbers as high as 187/108. Now he s experiencing Nausea and a sick feeling that will not go away even after being prescribed Phenergan. What could possibly be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think his case is an emergency. Very high blood pressure of 187/108 associated with neurological alternations (nausea, and feeling sick) are a ring bell for you to understand his bp is spiking and his body is not managing well. He needs immediate help.

Phenergan will help with nausea, but should reduce his bp as soon as possible (which is the main cause).
So, better send to ER for immediate cardiac check up (EKG, echo-cardiogram, Stress test) and immediate treatment.

Wish fast recovery.
