Sure thanks! My sister in law just had strep throat and it came back. The physician assistant gave her a zpak but gave her wrong dose. She felt better about a day and now has horrible sore throat. She is on meds now but when she gets strep she gets a really bad case every time . The penicillin does not se to help her. Should she go to er?

Hi. Yes, if she has an active throat infection with fever then she must visit the ER. She may need Intravenous antibiotics or a higher dosage of penicillin group of antibiotics or cephalosporins to manage the infection.
