Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat

I have strep throat and the doctor prescribed me a 5-day azithromycin pack. I haven't gotten any better and only have one dose left. What should i do next? Could it be something worse than strep?

I also recently had some portions of my scalp that are sensitive to the touch. I don't recall injuring it in any way. Could this be associated? Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for using HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
If I were your treating doctor I would have started you combination of cefixime and azithromycin in this case.
You will certainly feel better with this and warm saline gargle.
Sensitivity of scalp may not be related to this.
Some time it happens due to neuropathies.
You should see a doctor if it does not resolve in 48 hours.
Hope , this suggestion will help you.
Good luck.
