sometimes when I wake up after a few hours of sleep when I have not moved my head from a position it feels as though my scalp is asleep in that area, and only that area where I have been laying on it.. like when your foot falls asleep, the same kind of feeling... it goes away soon enough with no other symptoms, but it still is bothersome that it happens, one neurologist told me it is a stress headache.. input please?
Hello dear, I understand your concern.Transient numbness in our body parts is a very common phenomenon and it occurs due to the nerve compression when we lie in a particular position for quite a time. This is reversible and completely recovers as we change the body position. This is not a cause of worry. It is likely not stress headache as headache is not present in your case, however, stress or anxiety can sometimes result in such symptoms.I hope it helps you.
