Suggest Treatment For Strong Sweet Odor From The Nose

I have been having a sweet smell in my nose for a while. I changed detergent to sensitive with no odors. I rarely wear any cologne. My husband can t smell any sweet odor on me. This affects my sleep because at times it is really strong. I have a history of sinus infections.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Strong sweet odor may be seen in metabolic conditions like diabetic ketoacidosis or liver failure or atropine rhinitis or aminoaciduria or tonsillar stone or pharyngitis etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Please check for systemic and local causes for strong sweet odor.
Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
Please consult your physician/ ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
