Suggest Treatment For Sudden Dizziness In An Elderly Person

Female age 75, Symptoms of sudden onset of dizziness, nearly passing out. Symptoms slowly subside and returns to normal. Blood pressure elevates during episodes. BP medications have been increased twice. EKG, stress test and holter monitor have normal results. Could this still be heart related? What additional testing needs to be done?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Recurrent transient ischemic attacks are possible during the elevation of blood pressure in the elder person causing dizziness spells.

* I would recommend better BP control to avoid such instances and if required an MRI brain would be of much help to look into the matter in greater depth.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
