Suggest Treatment For Sudden Swollen Vein With Severe Pain In Wrist
The vein in my left wrist suddenly got huge and my wrist is sore. There is obvious swelling, but no bruise. I had a really bad headache last night that some me up. It eased up with ibuprofen and an ice pack. The headache tried to come back today around 4 pm but I headed out of with more ibuprofen. I noticed the pain and huge vein around 6:30. It hurts to move my wrist around. Not excruciating by any means but definitely noticeable. I don t remember doing anything to it. Should I be concerned? I m 43 years old.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to a bulging vein. It can be related to the blood pressure . When it rises your veins are pushed closer to your skin. Once your blood pressure drops to normal, your hand veins become less prominent. Exercising on a regular basis, however, can make bulging hand veins permanent. Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.
Hope my answer was helpful.

Kind regards!
