Suggest Treatment For Sunburn On The Legs And Knees

Two days ago I was at the beach and have gotten a really bad sunburn on the back of my legs, especially on the back of my knees. I woke up this morning not being able to straighten my legs. Is there something else I should be doing, other than applying aloe gel on it?

Hi,

If you do not use proper sun protection lotions and clothes when being in sun for too long it can burn your skin known as Sunburns. Other than applying aloe gel there are a few more things that can help in reducing inflammation that causes pain and inflammation.

You can do ice packs or cool compresses to soothe the burning and inflamed skin. You can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen. Drink plenty of water. You can also apply steroid based ointments as it will help in reducing inflammation quicker.

Avoid wearing very tight clothes till it heals. In case if there is blistering then better consult a Physician and get checked and do not pop the blisters at home.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
