Suggest Treatment For Sunburns In A Child

My 11 year old son completed his 4th day in a row of outdoor soccer camp. He s playing 9am—4pm in 85 degree heat. His face and legs are dark red and his eyes are bloodshot. Should I keep him home and skip the 5th day of camp? Should I put some kind of lotion on his burnt skin? Thank you for answers.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

You may use aloe Vera gel over his skin for the burn. If the burn is severe you may need to use dermazin. Give him acetaminophen for burning pain. Also keep him well hydrated.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
