Suggest Treatment For Swallowing Difficulty And Sore Throat
I have had a moderate-severe sore throat for a week now. painful swallowing, yawning and turning head from one side to another. no other symptoms, no fever, no white/pink spots on throat, no congestion, cough or runny nose. I don t even want to swallow saliva.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swallowing difficulty and sore throat which are pointing towards a condition known as tonsillitis and untreated upper respiratory tract infection.
I would suggest you to :-
- Take ibuprofen or tylenol for pain and swelling .
- Take steam inhalation.
- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.
- Avoid taking sharp food and go for walk daily and do not take large meals at a time.
Consult ENT specialist for proper examination and doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis and may prescribe broad spectrum antibiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
