I had a bump on the right side of my tongue and because it was was swollen I bit it. I now have a whole from the bite and it s still swollen. I can t eat so I m drinking Ensure. I m also rinsing with salt water and peroxide. It has been about a week and it s really sore. Also my whole tongue seems to have a whiteish hue.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain it seems that the bump is either due to inflammation caused due to injury to the soft tissues cause by the teeth due to tongue bite..
Other reason can be Hematoma formation due to rupture of any small blood vessel secondary to injury..
As it is painful and you are unable to eat you can apply a Numbing Gel containing Lignocaine over it so that it does not pain during eating..

Although Ensure is considered as a complete food suppliment but for proper nutrition and energy proper intake of solid food is must and after applying numbing gel you will not feel pain and can eat well..

Along with it for pain you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for reducing pain and inflammation..

Do alternate warm and cold compresses over the swelling for faster resolution..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
