Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Numbness In The Leg

I was prescribed compression socks for my right leg problem of swelling and occasional numbness. I have been wearing it on my leg for 6 days now with no improvement. I went to a wellness center today and walked for one hour. The pain this afternoon is bad in my groin area when I went to the grocery store. Should I continue to wear the sock? My dr.also said she was going to prescribe anti inflammatory pills but did not call in an order. Should I be on an anti inflammatory?

Hello,

As there are swelling and numbness there should be two possibilities I can see.

One is insufficient venous return can be due to varicose veins or cardiac pulling weakness. And two is the lumbar disc nerve root entrapment.

Treatment has to go accordingly. For venous return issue stocking, diuretic drug or lemon juice should help.

Along with this perform ankle toe movements by the keeping the leg over the pillow above the level of the heart.

For lumbar disc nerve root entrapment there will be exercise related to core stability, spinal muscle strengthening exercises, hip muscle strengthening exercises.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
