Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain Below The Thumb Post Injury

Hi, I stumbled falling upstairs, stopped by my hands, two days ago and felt a pain in my wrist immediately. The palm below my thumb swelled up almost instantly and everything was pretty painful. As I could still wriggle my fingers I didn t worry. It looks like it s just starting to bruise and is still a little swollen but there s an ache deep inside my wrist and I can t fully straighten my thumb. Is this quite normal?

Hi,

Please do apply ice and take NSAID like Advil for pain and inflammation. If it does not improve in a couple of days, get an x-ray done to rule out any bony injury.
