Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In The Ankle

Hi. I went to take a step a week ago and heard a series of three cracks at my left ankle. There was minor discomfort.then nothing until woke up the next morning to intense pain and swelling. I iced and rested it. Today again I was taking a.step and heard cracks. Now the pain is so intense it is keeping me awake and putting any weight on the ankle is painful. what happened, how do I treat it? How do I make the pain go away?
