Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Redness On Lips After Injury

Hello, I was eating a candy earlier and it was in a tube so to get the last of it I started sucking on it and then I realized that o could get a bruise so I stopped but I realized that it was too late. I went to the mirror and my lips were a little swollen and there was a little redness around my lips. So straight away I made an ice pack and I put it on my lips for 10 minutes and then gave it a break then did it over again. I did this about 4 times and the redness went away but now there is blue around my mouth and I was wondering how long it would take for it to go away. If you want to see a photo I'll gladly send one.

Thanks for the query..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you have got ANGIOEDEMA OF LIPS due to allergic reaction with some or the other constituent of the candy and it is due to allergic reaction and not injury..
The swelling in lips is due to accumulation of inflammatory fluid under the skin of the lips giving them a swollen and puffy appearrence and redness and bruising is due to inflammation and dialation of the blood vessels..

You need not to worry and continue doing ice packs..
Take Allegra 60 mg twice a day for 3 days..
Avoid licking ,biting or sucking the lips..
Avoid eating the particular candy that has caused reaction..
